Operational conditions for Airport video control and facial biometric systems during global disease
While aviation industry attempts to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic the role of biometric recognition is growing as part of low-stress, secure and contactless travel passengers experience. And the main topic on top of technological side and implementation scenarios is definitely major step to «One ID» concept in accordance with the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Till the end of 2020 main goal for aviation industry is to provide rapid traffic flow in the airports by enabling passengers to use only their faces as identification throughout the entire airport process. But pure introduction of contactless biometric verification today runs counter to key requirements for the diseases containment process on transport. Thus, biometrics must certainly be a comprehensive security element along with temperature measurement, identity verification against checking lists (infected, isolated etc), verification of airport employees and 3rd party contractors.
